I’ve been an owner of mid-sized motor cruisers for over 30 years, apart from frequent runs down to the estuary, most of my boating has been non-tidal.
In 2012 my wife and I decided to taste the French Waterways and hired a boat for two weeks in Burgundy. We thoroughly enjoyed the Canal Nivernais but were disappointed with the choice of boat, more so considering the charter cost (In excess of £2,000 per week). Whilst cruising the area though, we admired some of the other operators' boats, particularly Le Boat, as these all looked smart and well maintained. Funnily enough, on our return home we saw an advert for the Le Boat Ownership Programme and immediately registered an interest.
