Reviews for the Tamaris
Our cruise visited Heeg, Stavoren, Workum, Bolsward, Ijlst and Sneek. Most memorable were the beautiful tall masted ships at Stavoren and views out over the Ijsselmeer, the historic town square and Huisman art museum at Workum, and many more sites. The wide open skies, beautifully tended villages, towns and gardens and outstanding wildlife/wildfowl.
Ideal boat for comfortable cruising for two couples, so good in fact we bought one!!!!!
Tied up at the bank and take the bicycles in to the small villages. Dealing with the locals... They were all very helpful.
Everything went well. Boat performed great. This was the only boat available to us when we booked. We would probably have upgraded if possible. The boat was somewhat cramped eventhough there were only 4 of us. Seemed tight.
We had good experiences with staff (the reception staff at Port Cassafieres and Castelnaudary were delightfully welcoming and helpful and spoke excellent English which helps), but also average ones (a few dismissive front staffers at other bases). Some of the technical staff (like the people who showed us around the boat), although friendly, seemed under-supported and overwhelmed. It's hard to do a review of our two weeks and not wax lyrical about the beauty and friendly welcome of canal life. I'd hate for anyone to think we did not enjoy our trip from Port Cassafieres to Castelnaudary onboard Le Boats Tamaris (4 berth), in fact we loved it. But I feel that was despite Le Boat rather than because of it, and to make the review more useful for potential holidayers I'm going to risk sounding like a nitpicker.
The Tamaris (4 berth) was perfect for the three of us, despite being one of the older boats in the fleet. We loved the fact that we could sit on the back deck and drink in the views up and down the canal. The cabin felt spacious and well designed. The V berth beds may be a tad small for a tall male but for a female all sleeping areas were adequate. The windows were generous and the boat was airy.
