Soirs d'Ete festival comes to Agen

Thursday 30 April 2009

During a boating holiday in the Aquitaine region of France this summer, families could stop off in Agen to enjoy some live music.

According to What's on When, a two-month music festival takes place in July and August and sees free open air concerts take place at the city's Place de la Mairie.

Performances range from brass bands to French chanson and take place on Tuesday and Friday evenings.

The event is expected to attract large audiences who are likely to spend the evening enjoying the concerts and exploring the city.

Holidaymakers can stop off in Agen as they cruise through the Garonne Valley, visiting medieval villages and shopping at local markets on the way.

Highlights of a break in the region may include a meal in one of Aquitaine's many restaurants, which offer local delicacies such as foie gras and truffles.

Boating holidays in Aquitaine are available from the cruise bases at Le Mas d'Agenais, Montauban and Condom.
