Camargue boating holidays 'make families smile'

Thursday 02 July 2009

A boating holiday in Camargue in the south of France is sure to make families smile if the results of a new survey are anything to go by.

Research by the Co-operative Bank reveals the top 20 things that make people smile and many of these can be found on a boat break in the French region.

For example, sitting in the sun came in at fifth place in the list, with 46 per cent of respondents claiming this raises a smile.

Camargue enjoys the most days of sunshine in the whole of France, so fulfilling this particular wish will not be difficult.

Swimming in the sea also featured in the list and since Camargue is home to some fantastic beach resorts, holidaymakers will be able to dive in regularly during their break.

Other holiday-related things that made it into the top 20 were booking a trip away and landing at a holiday airport.

Boating holidays in the Camargue region are available from the bases at Port Cassafieres, Beaucaire, Homps and St Gilles.

As well as boasting some of France's best beaches, Camargue also has plenty of fishing villages and historic towns for tourists to explore.
