The hilltop village is famous for its artists and craftwork and, among other attractions, is home to the Musee Rignault.
Here, visitors can view permanent exhibitions of contemporary art, including graphics and sculpture, as well as temporary displays.
The medieval building that houses the gallery was renovated by art collector Joseph Rignault and its gardens overlook the beautiful Lot Valley.
Following their tour of the Musee Rignault, holiday makers could also head to Le Chateau de Saint-Cirq Lapopie, which also has an interesting collection of modern art.
They could then visit the Maison de la Fourdonne to find out more about the history of Saint-Cirq Lapopie. During the summer, a number of plays and concerts are held at the venue.
Boating holidays along France's River Lot are available from the cruise base at Douelle.
