More than 400 distinct types of cheese are made in France every year and many of these will be on display at the festival, which will no doubt be a delight for dairy-lovers everywhere.

Live music, pedalo rides and circus acts will also be taking place throughout the streets of the town to add further entertainment for visitors.

Elsewhere, those planning a cruise on the Lot River in the coming months have been advised of the many attractions that the surrounding region has to offer.

Medieval bridges and chateaus are dotted along the banks of the river, while walking, fishing, quad biking and cycling are just some of the activities available to adventurous travellers.
