Held on April 30th, the event sees thousands of revellers dress in orange to celebrate the birthday of the Dutch Queen Mother, Princess Juliana.
Street parties, live music concerts, parades and fireworks are all scheduled and the festivities begin on the evening of the 29th, carrying on until the following evening.

Until June 7th, the Van Gogh Museum will be displaying several of the Dutch artist's night time paintings in an exhibition called Van Gogh and the colours of the night.
